For Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik, Supreme Court Okays Urgent Hearing

Nawab Malik was captured by the Enforcement Directorate over a property bargain supposedly connected to the associates of criminal Dawood Ibrahim.

New Delhi: Maharashtra serve Nawab Malik’s request looking for guaranteed discharge from jail in a tax evasion case will be taken up by the Supreme Court which has consented to an earnest hearing.

A seat headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana asked senior attorney Kapil Sibal, showing up for the imprisoned Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) pioneer who looked for dire posting of his request, to give records.

“Kindly give the papers,” said the seat, which additionally contained Justices Krishna Murari and Hima Kohli.

The Prevention of Money Laundering Act appeared in 2005 and the clergyman has been charged under the rule for the supposed offenses submitted preceding 2000, Mr Sibal said.

Mr Malik was captured by the Enforcement Directorate over a property bargain supposedly connected to the associates of hoodlum Dawood Ibrahim. Not long after his capture, the pastor had documented request in the high court, testing his capture and the remand orders.
